Last week I introduced Mr. Luke to his very first Fuzzy Wuzzy caterpillar. I found the critter while cleaning out our garage. As I enthusiastically approached Luke with it curled up in my hand, he looked very concerned. His expression quickly changed to pure delight once that caterpillar unfurled and started to crawl all over my glove. Ha!
Watching Luke inspect that “buh” (short for “bug” in Luke lingo) brought back many a happy child hood memory of me doing the same thing. It was also an honor. People, I get to show a brand new human being the wonders of God’s creation! Now, he may not grow up to be the wilderness medicine doctor that his Daddy and I envision, but that’s ok. He needs to do his own thing. However, I do hope that I can instill in him a basic love for nature while he’s young and living under our roof. It should be a fun process!
Enjoy your day! ~ Sara
